Our Story
A ring is not just a ring…
The Modern Man’s Haberdashery began as a quiet rebellion in Margrove, Georgia—a small town where tradition still lingered in storefront windows and handshakes meant something. Its founder, Jerry Applestand, grew up surrounded by that sense of permanence. He watched his father mend jackets instead of replacing them, saw neighbors pass down well-made pieces like heirlooms, and learned early that clothing could carry memory as much as function. Years later, as fast fashion took hold and quality gave way to speed, Jerry saw something deeper than a market shift—he saw a loss of care, of identity, of connection between a man and what he wore.
Determined to restore that connection, Jerry opened The Modern Man’s Haberdashery with a different philosophy: fewer pieces, made better, designed to last. Every item would be intentionally crafted with materials that age with character, not wear out with time. But more importantly, the experience itself would matter. He didn’t want a store where customers were transactions; he wanted a space that felt like the old-world haberdasher shops he admired, where the person behind the counter knew your name, your preferences, and how you carried yourself.
